Who is a subcontractor? Do you know if you are? When you enter into a subcontracting business arrangement, you are simply accepting to work with an entity that can complete a given task at a given price. This entity could be an individual or a company and their contract is for service rather than of service.
In short, when you use a subcontractor you do not treat them like your employees as they are not employees. They just get hired for a single contract and your relationship ends with the end of a contract. A person or company qualifies as a subcontractor if they are:
• Paid for the outcome received
• Contribute most if not all raw materials and tools of work.
• Free to accept or refuse to work under your terms
• Provide services to other businesses and generals public
• Exercise freedom in the way they work.
• Are in a position to make a gain or suffer a loss.
